Mission Girls School

Another story of the Streets doing good for the local community. With all this talk in the news about tech dorks gentrifying the Mission it may be hard to recall the real mission. Well just get the hell off Valencia Street and you'll find it. Grab a coffee from Philz and then head further down the cuts on 24th and you'll find the Mission Girls School, a repeated victim of Hipster tagging. Mission Locals : Pengo, Mace, Agana, Nate 1 and Dagon came through to bless this school with some colorful characters and artwork giving it a facelift that all the little ones love!

Ceaver's Playground

We stumbled upon this spot by accident. Saw a tag, followed it to a piece and then turned the corner and voila ! One of Ceaver's mini yards appeared. Hella in the cuts, deep in the East, it's a gem amidst shit. Ceav has taken a few friends to this spot to paint. Out of respect for the Oakland Mayor, we didn't flick everything in the yard. Just enough to show you how ill he is ! Impeach Quan - Elect Ceaver !

more from The Mission Alleys

It's been a while since we posted anything from the Mission and there is a bunch of new stuff in those alleys. Some of the east coast members of the EX Vandals recently came through and left their styles on the walls; some of our locals added new pieces as well. Nothing better than a fresh brewed Philz coffee and checking out the new art in the mission alleys on a lazy sunday. If you're liking these flicks get out there and walk it yourself. They look better in person.

We're starting with a wall just north of the mission and then hitting the alleys!

Elefunk : The Other Wall

So, you know the Ex Vandals crew came to Oakland to rock a wall. Well there was another wall adjacent to that and some of Oakland's (and two of Phoenix's ) finest came out to party with the Ex Vandals. Local artists Ernest Doty, Sean Griffin, Onedr and Nite Owl were joined by the father son duo of Such and Champ Styles. These 6 artists each brought their own special FUNk to the wall and paid tribute to a bygone era. Influenced by Kenny Scharf, Futura, Fab Five Freddy, Dondi R.I.P. , Lee, Keith Haring and the other artists of the Fun Gallery days, their wall held it's own alongside the wild Ex Vandals production.
