Mission Update - Clarion Alley

Back to the mission alleys where there always seems to be something new and exciting being painted ! Today we're featuring Clarion Alley. This used to be the heavyweight in the mission alleys, now unfortunately it seems to be our least favorite. The quality of work is no longer there. It no longer has the awe inspiring qualities that it used to. Now it just seems like a giant mess. Here's hoping the spring will bring out a bunch of talent to freshen up the walls!

Another one of those altruistic endeavors where any artist can paint, except that is for you... submit a portfolio of your work to help make their efforts look good and maybe you'll get a wall in the future. They already have their choice artists selected. (just look around SF, you'll notice the same names on all the new walls). We have nothing nice to say about the politics involved in "wallspace" around San Francisco, so we'll just leave you with some dope flicks from "artspace". Good luck enjoying these walls in person - the lot is often locked on weekends, and if it is open it's full of cars. Placing public art in a space that the public can not enjoy it is quite asinine if you ask us. Excuse the shitty photos, but there were cars and surly gardeners present when we visited.

It's been a while since we posted anything from the Mission and there is a bunch of new stuff in those alleys. Some of the east coast members of the EX Vandals recently came through and left their styles on the walls; some of our locals added new pieces as well. Nothing better than a fresh brewed Philz coffee and checking out the new art in the mission alleys on a lazy sunday. If you're liking these flicks get out there and walk it yourself.
